The person in this role will act as the reference point for security-by-design of Edge-based solutions deployed across manufacturing plants, working closely with Plant Cybersecurity Leaders and central design teams to ensure secure adoption of Edge, IoT, and AI initiatives throughout their lifecycle.
Main Responsibilities:
• Drive security-by-design assessments of manufacturing initiatives based on Edge computing, IoT, and AI from requirements through deployment and steady-state operation;
• Develop and maintain reference architectures, blueprints, and security patterns for Edge, IoT, and AI solutions aligned with central design standards and industry frameworks;
• Support the introduction of innovative Edge solutions in plants through technology assessment, threat modeling, integration with existing security controls, and post-deployment validation;
• Plan and execute audits and resilience test plans across regional plants, consolidating findings into improvement actions and design updates;
• Provide technical guidance to Plant Cybersecurity Leaders on operation and continuous improvement of Edge and IoT solutions, including firmware management, secure updates, and device-level identity and access;
• Contribute to the rollout of policies, procedures, and training initiatives related to Security by Design and applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements
We expect you to have:
• Academic background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field;
• Knowledge of Edge computing and IoT architectures, including industrial communication protocols such as MQTT and OPC UA;
• Understanding of AI and machine learning applications in industrial contexts and associated security considerations;
• Knowledge of manufacturing or shop-floor processes and IT/OT interaction;
• Familiarity with industrial cybersecurity standards and frameworks such as ISA/IEC 62443, NIST CSF, NIST IR 8183 Manufacturing Profile, and NIST SP 800-82;
• Advanced English proficiency;
• Availability to work onsite in Betim (MG), Brazil.
It will be considered a plus if you have:
• Experience in industrial environments or cybersecurity advisory for industrial operations;
• Hands-on exposure to Edge computing platforms and industrial IoT gateways;
• Knowledge of AI, Generative AI, or Agentic AI use cases applied to manufacturing operations and related governance frameworks;
• Familiarity with audit methodologies and resilience testing in OT environments;
• Industry cybersecurity certifications.
